Biography
McCoy began her musical journey at eight years old with professional violinist, Brendan Booher, where she later expanded her horizons as a pianist. Throughout her secondary education, McCoy was a member of two advanced level competitive and performance vocal ensembles. In both 2019 and 2020, she was invited to sing with the Oregon Ambassadors of Music on their summer European tour. With her choral vocal training, McCoy auditioned as a vocalist with the Saint Mary's Cathedral Choir in Limerick City in 2021. While studying at the Irish World Academy, she has expanded her repertoire into singing a variety of contemporary genres.

McCoy has gained work experience in music and vocal performance as a student teacher at her former high school where she worked as co-director, ensemble conductor, and piano accompanist throughout the choir program. During her student teaching, McCoy had the opportunity to perform as a soprano with Oregon's premier vocal chamber ensemble, Bend Camerata. Additionally, she is a vocalist on the worship team with Journey Church in Bend, Oregon, USA where she has gained work experience in production and audio editing.

As an independent solo artist, McCoy released her debut single 'Soldier' in January 2022 on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, with the story to spread awareness on mental health; the song has grown to become her most loved release to date, along with her other singles. Recently, McCoy published her debut EP 'Reflections' on streaming services worldwide. In April of 2022, McCoy composed her first solo piano composition 'Intimacy.' The purpose behind the piece was to showcase her idea of intimacy, authenticity, and vulnerability through sound and turn it into music. McCoy continues to write original compositions, as well as writing and producing solo artist music and has many more projects planned for the future.

Following the release of her debut single ‘Soldier,’ twenty year old singer-songwriter and dancer, Katie McCoy, has been driven to create her personal songs with a need for authenticity. 

With a mind for music, McCoy is a fourth-year student at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in Limerick, Ireland studying for her bachelor of arts in performing arts.

McCoy’s musical background began primarily in choral music, where she is a trained soprano singer. With her choral vocal training, McCoy was invited to perform with two European tours when she was sixteen years old. 
McCoy’s interest in music first peaked at an early age. She began to grow her passion for singing where she was a member of two advanced vocal ensembles during her secondary education.
While studying at the Irish World Academy, McCoy has broadened her knowledge in vocal performance, and has expanded her repertoire into performing various contemporary genres. Additionally, McCoy is a worship vocalist where she continues to pursue her passion for singing.
As an independent artist, McCoy takes pride in fully writing and producing all of her music. Being a self taught pianist, McCoy strives to create beautiful music in her compositions. She works to lyrics that all of her listeners can connect back to with touching melodies. She says, 'My one goal is to make music that tells a story, and to allow others' voices, as well as my own, be heard.'
